A truly unique species of plants that are part of the Bromeliad family, air plants literally live off thin air. They absorb their nutrients and water through its leaves via small structures called trichomes, like orchids and some ferns these plants are epiphytes hence don’t need roots but use their root-like structures to hold on to trees and rocks. Despite their uniqueness and relative rarity, air plants have evolved to over 600 species and any more hundreds of hybrids.
